I’ve painted several florals over the last few months. Here are a few Dahlia paintings.
“Emerging” has lots of warm color changes and a variety of hard and soft edges. These help bring movement through the painting.
“Awakening” also has a close focus and more intense color.
“Joyful” is a change of pace, emphasizing high key lighting with many light and middle values of color. It is more subtle with lots of soft edges.
“Dandy Dahlia” is another dramatic close focus piece.
“Heavenly Hydrangea” is a change of pace with a mix of subtle and dramatis areas. Many lost and found edges bring movement to this painting.
My painting, Homeless, has been selected for the new Splash 21 book competition, Capturing Mood, which has been published as a special edition magazine this year; released for sale June 16, 2020.
It is also included with works by other artists in an article about Splash in Watercolor Artists Magazine, August issue.
I presently have no workshops scheduled. Any future ones will probably be local. I do have 4 digital books, a hard cover book and 2 videos on this site for those who want to see information about how I paint, my materials and more. There is also painting information in the archived issues of the Seasonal Notes from other seasons.
