SEASONAL NOTES SUMMER 2021

Posted on: June 18th, 2021

Sunset From the Studio (photo)

I’ve reworked several paintings over the last few months Here are the results.

Awakening

Dandy Dahlia

The Conversation

I had seen this couple from a hotel balcony a few summers ago. I liked the design and “story” implicated by their body language. I finally painted my interpretation.

I painted on Bristol board with a warm palette of yellows, blues and pinks

Rapture

Now I’m working on a Peony painting on a half sheet of Strathmore Wet Media Board. I usually paint from light to dark and look for reflected colors in the light areas. Colors are mingled on a wet section of board, with darker values charged in before the area dries..

NEWS SUMMER

I presently have no workshops scheduled. Any future ones will probably be local. I do have 4 digital books, a hard cover book and 2 videos on this site for those who want to see information about how I paint, my materials and more. There is also painting information in the archived issues of the Seasonal Notes from other seasons.

You can view a variety of my paintings on the gallery pages. Many of these are still available for sale. Contact me if you are interested in information about a particular painting.
