After a rest from painting, I’ve been working again. Poignant Peony is the first this year. a complex design with lots of color changes and soft and hard edges. This is on Lana 140LB. cold pressed paper, which let me lift as desired
Joyous continues my Cyclamen series. it is on Lana paper too. Backlighting creates drama and interesting patterns. Notice how foliage and flower shapes merge from the light effects.
Rhapsody is another view of the cyclamen, using the same colors as above; Permanent Rose, Alizarin Crimson, Quinacridone Coral, Raw Umber, Cobalt Blue, Burnt Umber, Pthalo Turquoise and New Gamboge.
Decadent Dahlia is on a half sheet of Lana 140LB. paper. It is a close view and was like working on a puzzle. There are lots of color changes and a variety of edges. It is a very warm painting with a variety of reds and yellows along with Cobalt blue for a touch of cool. t was challenging, but fun to paint.
