I’ve been enjoying painting a variety of subjects lately. This portrait of my husband, Jay, was a great subject for painting the light pattern. I chose a simple palette of warm colors and tried to avoid adding too much detail.
Patches is the resident cat at the assisted living where my 102 year old Mother lives. She loves having visits from this lovely, friendly fellow. I felt compelled to paint my feeling about him. I softened a lot of edges here to portray the softness of his coat.
NEWS SUMMER
I received notice that my painting, Homeless, has been selected for the new Splash 21 book, Capturing Mood, which will be published by F & W publications next August 2020.
I presently have no workshops scheduled. Any future ones will probably be local. I do have 4 digital books, a hard cover book and 2 videos on this site for those who want to see information about how I paint, my materials and more. There is also painting information in the archived issues of the Seasonal Notes from other seasons.
