Lake Champlain & Green Mountains from Studio (photo)
Summer sped by and I have been painting a variety of flowers.
- Gracious Gloxinia
- Emergence
- Peony Mood
These are all half sheet paintings on cold pressed watercolor paper. Colors were mingled on wet sections of paper and darks were added in the same manner after the first washes were dry.
Dappled Light is on Plate Strathmore Illustration board. It has a warm palette for fall.
Lights were saved and painted around. Later some were also lifted with a clean damp brush. This smooth surface allows easy lifting and wonderful textures.
NEWS
I no longer teach workshops. I do have 4 digital books, a hard cover book and 2 videos on this site for those who want to see information about how I paint, my materials and more.
There is also painting information in the archived issues of the Seasonal Notes from other seasons and in several articles and interviews posted under the Articles heading in the top Bar of the Home page. You can view a variety of my paintings on the gallery pages. Many of these are still available for sale. Contact me if you are interested in information about a particular painting.
