SEASONAL NOTES SUMMER 2026

From the Studio (photo)

I’ve finally finished my painting of our dear cat, Kelsey, whom  we lost to illness a few months ago; way too young!  In his honor, I created this half sheet painting.

“Kelsey Sunning” was painted a few years ago and some aspects bothered me. New version on the right; I changed the stare of the eyes to a softer gaze and altered the body and head in various places. I’m happier with it now. Lots of edge softening!

The landscapes that follow were also altered for a livelier look.

Each is a half sheet and had more intense color and contrast added.

Decadent Dahlia, on a half sheet of paper got a makeover as well.  A bit less white and more mid tones
